Dear Pinecrest Elementary Family-
Our school is partnering with Voices For Children and the Miami Firefighters Benevolent Association to collect toys this holiday season for their Annual Holiday Drive through Student Council. Voices For Children is a non-profit organization dedicated to raising funds to ensure that every abused and neglected child in Miami-Dade County has a court appointed Guardian Ad Litem and that these children can be taken care of financially.
There are approximately 1,500 children in the system that don’t ever receive a gift for the holidays. The Voices For Children Annual Holiday Drive, created in 1989, has benefited thousands of children in Miami-Dade’s Foster Care system. This community-wide effort ensures that children in the dependency system receive a gift during the holiday season.
This holiday drive is a great way to put a smile on a deserving underprivileged child’s face. Any new unwrapped gift from age newborn-17 is greatly appreciated!
The collection for this Holiday Drive will take place from Monday, November 29th – Friday, December 10th. Student Council will prepare boxes for each homeroom to collect gift donations and promote this worthy cause through morning announcements.
